The Phalanstery in Guise in northern France a few kilometers from the border with Belgium. This unique experiment in utopian socialist architecture took place during the second half of the nineteenth century.
The Phalanstery was a city within a city, home to more than 1,000 people, offered the working class population over 300 comfortable apartments, and a number of services that were outstanding at the time.
